RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Rushmore Mall in Rapid City plans to reopen on Friday, May 1.
Mall Manager Sandy Brockhouse says “we’re going to take every precaution necessary and be very proactive in getting everything ready.”
The mall has been closed for more than a month in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The help ensure people keep a safe distance, arrows have been added to the floor to direct traffic and fewer people will be allowed in the food court, where the seating is now limited to 65.
When it comes to the number of people in the mall, there is no limit, but each store is responsible for maintaining social distancing.
When the mall opens up, at least 50-percent of the stores plan to be open. Brockhouse expects as the days go by, that number will continue to grow.
The mall’s hours will be Monday through Saturday, 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
