RAPID CITY, S.D. – Last week, a grand jury in Pennington County issued an indictment against a Rapid City man, who was apprehended in Decatur, Indiana by the US Marshals Service on Wednesday.
According to authorities, Gregory Landers, 53, was charged with first-degree manslaughter in the death of 30-year-old Acey Morrison.
Morrison was shot at Landers’ residence in Rapid City on August 21, 2022.
Landers was also charged with unauthorized ingestion of a controlled drug or substance and possession of a firearm by one with a prior drug conviction, stemming from the same incident in August of 2022.
The Pennington County Sheriff’s Office spearheaded the investigation into this matter, with support from the Rapid City Police Department. State’s Attorney Lara Roetzel will represent the prosecution on the state’s behalf.
