Sally Ann Donald, 66, of Wall, SD, died Sunday, October 15, 2023, at the Hospice House in Rapid City, SD.
Sally was born in Boone, Iowa, September 12, 1957, to Mary Rew Duncan and Richard Duncan. During her childhood she lived in Yankton, SD; Mitchell, SD; and lived in Pierre, SD, and attended elementary school; she then lived in Rapid City, SD, and attended high school at Stevens High School. After graduation she attended Black Hills State University for 2 years.
In 1981, she married, Jonathan Donald (2 children, Jessica, and Jordan) were born to this union they lived in Gillette, WY, and Central Meade County. Jonathan passed away in 1991.
Sally went back to Black Hills State University to attain her degree Elementary/Special Ed Major, Minor in Middle School.
She moved to Union Center and taught Reading Recovery for the Meade County School for 5 years and then moved to Sunshine Bible Academy where she taught for 12 years, later moved to Winner, taught at Todd County School District for 5 years, taught White River for 2 years, moved to Wall, SD- taught 2 years, then taught in Norris, SD, 1 year before retiring in 2023.
Sally is survived by her daughter, Jessica (Kyle) Schrick; Son, Jordan (Casie) Donald; step- daughter, Jeannine (Justin) Gibson; honorary-daughter, Jamie (Allan) Hockenbary; brother, Doug Duncan; sister, Lisa Duncan; grandchildren, Conner, Anna, Philip Schrick, Kandley Donald, Alek (Abbigail) Gibson-1great grandchild, Brynn Gibson, Carter Gibson, Samantha Stricker (Justin)-2 great grandchildren, Shaina Engel-Loux (Jonathan)-3 great grandchildren, Seth Donald-1 great grandchild, and Jayde Engel.
Sally was preceded in by death by her husband: Jonathan Donald, stepson: Jeramy Donald (survived by Darcy Engel), sister: Sandra Yellow Robe (survived by Luke Yellow Robe), mother: Mary Rew Duncan, and father: Richard (survived by Roberta) Duncan.
Burial will be 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Pine Slope Cemetery in Belle Fourche, SD.
Memorial services will be 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Community Baptist Church in Union Center, SD.
