UNDATED – In Saturday prep football action, the Hill City Rangers opened the season with tough loss to Tripp-Delmont/Armour/Andes Central/Dakota Christian.
The Rangers fell behind 20-8 at the half, but did have a nice rally in the second game, scoring touchdowns in the final minute of each half.
The Thunderhawks would outlast the Rangers 52-14. They racked up 440 yards of offense in the win.
Hunter Loeffler racked up 86 rushing yards in the second half and 126 yards total to help lead the Thunderhaws.
In other area action, the Hot Springs Bison opened the season with a punishing 55 to 0 win over Redfield.
Hot Springs amassed 253 yards of total offense and limited Redfield to -19 yards in a mercy-rule victory at home.
Camron Maciejewski led the Bison with five carries for 121 rushing yards and three touchdowns.
