Saturday, January 16, COVID-19 Report

PIERRE, S.D. – The Saturday COVID-19 report from the Department of Health indicated 341 new cases, of which, 88 were considered probable.

There were four new COVID-19 related deaths Saturday, raising the state’s death toll to 1,633.

Active cases increased by 105 to 4,837 and the number of people hospitalized dropped by 18 to 209.

New cases around the Black Hills area included 60 with 11 of them listed as probable.

Pennington County had 27 confirmed new cases with 6 probable and Meade  County added 9 confirmed cases with 1 listed as probable.

Lawrence County listed 4 confirmed cases and Butte had one confirmed, one probable.

Custer had 2 confirmed cases with one probable, Fall River County had 3 confirmed, 2 probable and Oglala Lakota had 4 new, confirmed cases.
