Saturday night fire significantly damages Black Hawk home

BLACK HAWK, S.D. —A structure fire in Black Hawk overnight resulted in significant damage.

According to the Black Hawk Fire Department Facebook page, fire crews were dispatched to the 4000 block of East Elmwood Court around midnight for a report of a structure fire.

Firefighters that arrived on scene first found a free burning fire with a heavy smoke condition in a structure which immediately struck a second alarm. The firefighters were able to confine the fire to the original building, which received moderate to extensive damage.

No injuries to civilians or firefighters was reported. One domestic animal remains missing at this time.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
