UNDATED – In high school wrestling action Saturday, after winning a dual vs Chamberlain on Friday, Sturgis won the Brookings Invitational with a score of 210.5, edging out Tea Area by 26.5.
For the Scoopers, Kelton Olson at 132, Wren Jacobs at 160 and Reese Jacobs at 170 all won their weight-class divisions.
Rapid City Central placed third with a 169.0 score. Cael Larson won the 138-pound division.
Spearfish placed sixth with a score of 137.0, getting victories from Oakley Blakeman at 145 and Max Sailor at 152 in their weight divisions.
Elsewhere, Rapid City Stevens finished fourth out of eight schools at the Madison Invitational with a score of 149.5. Harrisburg finished in first with 205 points. Howard was second with 169 and Chamberlain was third with 150.5.
The Raiders picked up two championship wins as Jack Schoenhard won the 113-pound division, and Logan Graf won the 120-pound title.
And, at the Hot Springs Extravaganza, Philip won the team title with 244.5 points. Custer was second with 146 and Miller/Highmore-Harrold finished in third.
Philip got championships from Kip Cordes at 106, Ryker Peterson at 120, Jadyn Coller at 126, Thane Simons at 132, Blair Blasius at 138, McCoy Peterson at 152, Burk Blasius at 160, Jesse Hostutler at 182 and Cody Donnelly at 195.
Custer’s Jonathan Lewis captured the 145 pound championship and for Hot Springs, Caleb Rickenbach won the 170 pound championship with his teammate Marcus Harkless winning the 220 pound championship.
At the Lemmon/McIntosh Invitational, the Pierre J.V. won the team championship with 219 points. Belle Fourche placed second with 180.5 and the Sturgis J.V. squad was third with 159 points.
The Scoopers crowned champions at 152 with Tanner Gillespie, and at 182 with Peter Pulling.
In the girls’ bracket, the Scoopers’ Madison Snyder was first with her teammate Abbie Culver in third.
