STURGIS, S.D. — The Sturgis Scooper varsity baseball team came out firing on all cylinders offensively, pounding out 14 hits in a 21-0 win over the Douglas Patriots in a three-inning affair at Strong Field.
Scooper freshman Dawson Inhofer threw a no-hitter, striking out four and walking four to get the win. Evan Stroud struck out two in relief and earned the save for Sturgis (1-0).
The defending state Class A champion Harrisburg Tigers come to Strong Field on Friday night for a doubleheader. The first pitch is scheduled for 5pm.
