Scooper Baseball Team Earns First Win

RAPID CITY, SD – The Sturgis Scooper baseball team pounded out 13 hits over five innings, blowing out the Douglas Patriots 20-3 at McKeague Field.

Owen Cass finished the game with three hits and five RBIs for the Scoopers. Conner Cruickshank struck out three and gave up one hit in two innings to earn the pitching win for Sturgis (1-2).  Dylan Christianson and Aiden Wood came in from the bullpen in relief to help close out the game.

The Douglas Patriots (0-4) had two hits and were led by Remi Kasuske and Christian Kreun with one hit each. Kylar Klingenberg took the pitching loss for Douglas.

The Scoopers are in action next on Sunday as they take on Rapid City Central in a home doubleheader at Strong Field.  The first game is scheduled for 4pm.
