Scooper boys, girls eager to play ball

STURGIS, S.D. – Both Sturgis Scooper Baseball and girls’ Softball teams have yet to play a game this spring as weather has either postponed or cancelled all games so far.

The Scooper girls are hoping to get their first taste of spring softball on April 14th vs Harrisburg and Brandon Valley.

Kayleen Selfridge is the Scooper coach and will have three Seniors on the squad, including Keeley Heikes, Brooke Wolf and Haley Walker.

The Scooper boys baseball team, in the meantime, has their next game scheduled for next Wednesday, the 12th.

Sturgis will host a double-header with Gillette at Strong Field, and we’ll have the games right here on KBHB. The Scoopers will follow that up with a matchup vs Stevens in Rapid City on April 18th.

Wade Huntington, Patrick Cass and Cindy Cruickshank will be coaching up the Scoopers this spring.
