STURGIS, S.D. – Both Sturgis Scooper girls and boys soccer won their games on senior night Thursday.
In the girls game, Emilee Copeland had three goals and Sturgis came back from a 2-goal deficit in the second half to beat Belle Fourche 6-5.
Belle Fourche took a 4-2 lead into halftime, but Sturgis would change things up in the second half and scored four goals within a four minute time frame.
Cali Ewing put one over the head of Bronc goalie Aleyah Carbajal to make it 4-3 with 20:43 to play. Less than a minute later, Copeland found the back of the net to tie things up. Copeland added another goal at the 18:00 mark and Jenna Burke wrapped up the scoring by hitting a goal with 16:14 left.
The Broncs added a late goal, but the Scoopers held on for the win.
In the boys game, Carson Wolter scored a hat trick for the Scoopers, scoring three goals en route to a 6-1 victory.
Also scoring goals for the Scoopers were Karsen Berndt, Talan Kullbom and Ryne Bostrom.
Sturgis led 2-0 at halftime, and added four more in the final 9 minutes.
Cody Foos scored the lone goal for Belle Fourche.
