STURGIS, S.D. – The Sturgis Scooper boys basketball team wrapped up the regular season with a dominating 61-35 win over Douglas Monday night.
On senior night, the Scoopers outscored Douglas 26-7 in the second quarter and never looked back as they rolled to their 10th win of the season.
Three Scoopers were in double-figures, including Ryan Heinert, who led the scoring attack with 15 points. Heinert drained four 3-pointers during the second quarter onslaught.
Owen Cass added 14 for the Scoopers while Dysen Peterson chipped in a dozen.
Jesse Hand led Douglas with 16.
Meanwhile, the Scooper girls wrapped up their season with their second win a row, knocking off Douglas 55 to 44.
Cali Ewing and Landry Haugen each scored 10 to lead the Scoopers.
The girls finish the season with a 3 and 15 record and will miss the SoDak 16.
