STURGIS, S.D. — The Sturgis Scooper girls soccer team held on to defeat the Douglas/Rapid City Christian/New Underwood Patriots in a hard fought affair, 1-0 at Woodle Field on Tuesday night.
The Scoopers had 15 shots on goal and could only convert once, on a second half goal by freshman Avery Marler. But that was all the Scoopers needed as their defense held strong and kept Douglas off the scoreboard.
Sturgis (5-8-1) wrapped up their regular season with the win and now wait to find out their playoff opponent.
