STURGIS, S.D. – The Sturgis Scooper girls outscored Douglas 20-5 in the second quarter and took a big lead they would not relinquish en-route to a 49-29 victory Friday night.
The Patriots started strong and took a brief lead in the first quarter. The Scoopers only led by 2 at the end of the first before blowing open the game in the second.
Sturgis was led by Megan Petrocco’s 12 points, which included two 3-pointers. Lexi Long added 10 points for the Scoopers.
Douglas was led by Taliyah Green’s 8 points.
Sturgis improves to 7-11 on the season and Douglas falls to 1-16.
