STURGIS, S.D. – The Sturgis Scooper volleyball team earned a much needed win at West Gym on Thursday night in three sets over Lead-Deadwood, 25-14, 25-22, 25-15.
Scooper senior TyLee Oswald had seven kills, six aces and two blocks. Sturgis eighth grader Faith King had a good night for the Scoopers with eight assists, seven aces, three kills and one block. Joellen Cano contributed 14 assists and four aces.
Piper Rogers had 10 assists and two aces for Lead-Deadwood with Allyson Mollman adding four aces and three kills.
Sturgis improves to 8-19 on the season and hosts Red Cloud on Saturday. The junior varsity match begins at noon, the C game at 1pm, and the varsity match first serve is scheduled for 2pm.
