SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Sturgis Scooper wrestling team is in Sioux Falls tonight, preparing for this year’s State A Wrestling Tournament, which begins Thursday.
Along with the individual tournament, the team dual tournament is back this year.
Sturgis heads into the dual tournament as the 5th seed and will face fourth-seeded Watertown in the opening dual matchup. Top seeded Pierre will wrestle Dell Rapids, second-seeded Rapid City Stevens gets Madison and Brandon Valley wrestles Harrisburg for their dual opening.
The Scoopers send two region champions into the tournament, Kaden Olson at 113 and Perry Ketelsen at 132. In all, there are 12 Scooper wrestlers competing at this year’s tournament.
