RAPID CITY, S.D. – For the first time in over a decade, the Sturgis Scooper Wrestling team brought home the team title of the Rapid City Invite Saturday.
The Scoopers had no champions, but had two runner-ups and two third place winners.
Tyler Baldwin took 2nd at 106 as did Zac Juelfs at 215. Finishing in 3rd place were Joseph Nadig at 150 and Kalvin Ketelsen at 144.
Thunder Basin came in second in the team standings with 194.5, behind Sturgis’ 201. Bismarck was third and Pierre was fourth. Philip Area rounded out the top five.
Area wrestlers winning champions include Rapid City Central’s Pierce Hurd at 106 and Caleb Rickenbach of Hot Springs at 215.
