RAPID CITY – The Sturgis Scooper girls softball team battled the wind and the cold on Friday and came up short against two East River teams.
The Scoopers lost to the Harrisburg Tigers in game one, 16-4 in six innings at the Parkview Softball Complex. No statistics were made available.
In game two, Sturgis competed against a tough Brandon Valley Lynx squad but came up short, losing 20-9 in six innings.Â
Macy Lembke got the pitching win for the Lynx, who tallied 20 hits as a team and left nine on base. Brandon Valley was led by Tenley Rude, who went 6-for-6 at the dish, with two home runs, four RBIs and four runs scored.
Bella Cramer took the pitching loss for Sturgis (0-3). Â The Scoopers had 17 hits and left 11 on base and were led by Zabree Bush, who went 4-for-5 with one RBI.Â
The Scoopers are in action next on Thursday, April 20 when they travel to Yankton to take on the Gazelles.
