BROOKINGS, S.D. – The Brookings Bobcats remained perfect on the season as they overcame a slow start and ran past Sturgis 53 to 13 Friday night.
Brookings racked up 382 yards of total offense and got three touchdowns from Josh Buri.
Buri had 7 carries for 120 yards with two touchdowns on the ground. One was a 29 yard run into the endzone with 2:21 before half and another that went 52 yards in the third quarter. His other touchdown came on a pass from Quarterback Jaxon Bowes in the second quarter.
Sturgis finished with 120 total yards offense. Kaden Phillips scored on a 9 yard touchdown run in the fourth. Philips had the other score courtesy of a 40 yard touchdown catch from Tanner Ortlieb late in the second quarter.
Brookings improves to 3-0 on the season while Sturgis falls to 0-3.
Sturgis plays at Douglas next Friday.
