SDHSAA State Track and Field Meet wraps up Day one

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The State Track and Field Meet wrapped up day one in Sioux Falls on Thursday, with preliminary events in most of the running events.

Finals were held in 4 x 800 meter relay in all three classes. In boys Class AA, Sioux Falls Jefferson brought home the win, Sioux Falls Christian wins  Class A and Freeman Academy/Burke wins Class B.

In the girls races, Brandon Valley wins the Class AA race, Sioux Falls Christian edges out Custer in the Class A race and Colman-Egan captures the Class B race.

In completed field events, Hank Kraft of Timber Lake wins the triple jump with Rylan McDonnell of Wall taking third.

Cord Beer of Lemmon wins the Class B pole vault with a 13-06 leap.

Mataya Ward of Belle Fourche won third in the girls Class A triple jump and Jason Maciejczak of Douglas took second in the discus throw.

Mikael Grace of Custer captured third in the boys Class A high jump.
