SEDC Welcomes Economic Development Coordinator

STURGIS, S.D. – Sturgis Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) proudly announces the appointment of Brenna Block as its new Economic Development Coordinator. With a proven track record in economic development, Brenna brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her new role.

In her capacity as Economic Development Coordinator, Block will dedicate fifty percent of her time to collaborating closely with businesses, stakeholders, the City of Summerset, and the Piedmont Valley Chamber of Commerce in Summerset, South Dakota. In addition, her responsibilities will include fostering strategic partnerships, attracting investment, promoting entrepreneurship, and supporting the expansion of local businesses throughout all the communities in Meade County.

Amanda Anglin, SEDC Executive Director, said, “We are thrilled to welcome Brenna to our team as our new Economic Development Coordinator. Brenna’s experience and passion for economic development make her the ideal candidate to help lead our efforts in driving growth and prosperity throughout Meade County.  We are confident that her leadership will make a significant impact as we continue to pursue our mission of fostering economic development opportunities throughout Sturgis and Meade County.  This position was made possible, in part, by a partnership with the City of Summerset.  We are excited to further our economic development efforts alongside the Summerset City Commission, City Staff and members of the Piedmont Valley Chamber of Commerce.”

Block expressed her excitement about joining SEDC, stating, “I am thrilled to work with the communities, businesses and residents throughout Meade County. Economic Development encompasses so many dynamic issues that affect South Dakotans everyday. I am looking forward to fulfilling this new role within SEDC to help provide solutions and become a part of the Meade County leadership team. I feel my skills and expertise, as well as my excitement to learn, will help drive success in this quickly growing county in the Black Hills!”

Block is scheduled to commence her duties on April 1, 2024.
