PIERRE, S.D. – The active number of COVID-19 cases continue to trickle upward this week as 441 new cases were reported Thursday. Of those 441, 102 were listed as probable.
The active caseload in the state rose by 120 to 5,782.
The number of people hospitalized continued a downward trend this week, falllin another 14 today to 173.
Seven new COVID-19 related deaths were reported Thursday, sending the state’s death toll to 2,260.
Pennington County had the most new cases in the Black Hills report with 84 total. Of those 84, 14 were listed as probable.
Lawrence County had the second highest new case report with 14 confirmed and 2 probable for a total of 16. Meade County had 15 new cases and Butte County added 8.
Elsewhere, Fall River County reported 9, Oglala Lakota tallied 7 and Custer County listed 2 new cases.
