STURGIS, S.D. – Great Plains Fire Dispatch reported several new fire starts Monday.
Lightning sparked a couple of fires, including a small blaze south of Spearfish.
Another fire in northeast Wyoming caused some concern for residents in the Upton area.
The Upton Fire Department reported the blaze, located northwest of town, could head towards Barton Road, especially the subdivision in that area. Once it was determined things were good, evacuation orders were lifted.
