STURGIS, S.D. – The annual Sturgis Invitational Cross Country was held Thursday at Fort Meade.
Sheridan captured both girls and boys team titles with Sturgis placing second in the boys and Natrona County, Wyoming capturing second in the girls. The Scooper girls finished in fourth place, behind Kelly Walsh, Wyoming in third. Natrona County was third in the boys standings and Kelly Walsh was fourth.
Winning the individual boys race was Landrum Wiley of Sheridan in a time of 16:21.27. Ty Petrocco of Sturgis placed second in a time of 16:30.76. His teammate Quinn Bruch placed sixth.
Winning the girls race was Ally Wheeler of Natrona County, finishing in a time of 18:38.51. Kayley Alicke of Sheridan was second and Ashley Gross of Natrona County was third. Custer’s Brit Wheeler finished in fourth. Top placing Scooper girl was Iris Zylstra in ninth.
