SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Sioux Falls Roosevelt girls soccer team won the Class AA championship match Saturday night with a victory over Rapid City Stevens via penalty kicks.
The Raiders led 3-2 on penalty kicks when the Rough Riders tied things up, sending it to sudden death.
Halle Miller made the Sioux Falls Roosevelt first sudden death kick and the Raiders missed theirs, giving the Rough Riders the trophy.
Stevens brings home the runner-up trophy for the second time in four years.
In the boys Class AA Championship game, Yankton defeated Sioux Falls O’Gorman 1-0 for the title.
In the Class A Championships, Sioux Falls Christian defeated Tea Area 3-2 to win the boys title and West Central edged Dakota Valley 2-1 to win the girls title.
