STURGIS, S.D. — United States Attorney Alison J. Ramsdell announced Friday that multiple South Dakota agencies conducted a joint sex trafficking operation during the 2022 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.
The United States Department of Justice reports that the operation began on August 5, and ended on August 11. The agencies involved in the operation include the South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation, the South Dakota Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, U.S. Homeland Security Investigations, Ellsworth AFB Office of Special Investigations, Rapid City Police Department, Pennington County Sheriff’s Office, and the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
The following six men were arrested and charged for Attempted Enticement of a Minor Using the Internet:
- Brandon Reide Prue of Rapid City, 27
- Donald William Laun of Rapid City, 61
- Kordelle Ray Running Hawk of Rapid City, 24
- Siddiq Ahmed Damkiwala of Rapid City, 32
- William Henry Riese of Rapid City, 31
- Christopher Daniel Luna of Sturgis, 32
If convicted, the mandatory minimum penalty is 10 years up to life in federal prison, as well as any term of years — no less than five — up to lifetime supervised release.
