Six new deaths among cases listed in weekly COVID-19 report

PIERRE, S.D. – In the weekly COVID-19 report, state health officials reported 511 new cases over the past week.

There were 48 new hospitalizations for a total of 54 and active cases have fallen to 211.

Six new deaths were reported, sending the state’s death toll to 3,124. Five of the new deaths were out of Minnehaha County. The other was out of Lyman County.

Across the Black Hills area, Pennington County reported 68 new cases this past week, Lawrence County had 9 and Meade County listed 5.

Elsewhere, Oglala Lakota County showed 8 new  cases, Butte County had 3 and Custer County reported two.
