SPEARFISH, S.D. – The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office reports skeletal remains being found in a remote wooded area outside of Spearfish.
The Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday that they received notification of the remains on Sunday.
The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office says an investigation is underway to determine the identity of the subject and the manner of death.
Aiding in the investigation are the South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation, South Dakota Highway Patrol and Lawrence County Coroner’s Office.
