UNDATED – The South Dakota Class AA and Class A Boys and Girls Soccer playoffs began Tuesday.
In Boys Class AA, the Sturgis Scoopers saw their season come to an end with a 5-0 loss to fourth seeded Aberdeen Central.
The top seeded Rapid City Stevens Raiders won their opening match with a 12-0 rout of Douglas/RC Christian.
Eighth Seeded Rapid City Central dropped a 2-0 game to Sioux Falls Washington.
Other scores were #5 Roosevelt defeating #12 Brandon Valley 2-1, Second seed Spearfish emerged victorious with a 5-1 win over Brookings, O’Gorman downed Huron 4-2, Watertown knocked off Pierre 4-1 and Lincoln edged Yankton 2-1.
In Girls Class AA, Sturgis dropped a 4-0 game to fourth seeded Brandon Valley. Top-seeded Aberdeen Central shut out Washington 5-0.
Watertown edged Spearfish 3-2, Stevens rolled past Yankton 7-1 and RC Central shut out Pierre 5-0.
Other scores had O’Gorman beating Mitchell 2-1, Harrisburg shut out Brookings 5-0, and Roosevelt edged Yankton 2-1.
In Class A boys, St Thomas More just got past Belle Fourche 4-3 and Vermillion rolled over James Valley Christian 10-1. Sioux Falls Christian and Tea got first round byes.
In Class A Girls, Sioux Falls Christian won a tough 1-0 match over Dakota Valley and Vermillion edged St Thomas More 2-1. Tea and West Central got first round byes.
