RAPID CITY, S.D. – The South Dakota state cheer and dance competition wrapped up Saturday with the Class AA championships.
Sioux Falls Washington won their sixth straight state dance title and Sioux Falls Roosevelt won the state cheer title.
In the dance competition, Washington won with 394.75 points. Brandon Valley placed second with 392.5 points and Sioux Falls Roosevelt was third with 371.5 points.
The top placing area team was Rapid City Central in tenth.
On their way to the title, Washington won the Hip Hop and Jazz portion and Brandon Valley won the Pom category.
Roosevelt won the cheer title with 293.5 points. O’Gorman placed second with 288.5 and Harrisburg was third with 281 points.
Top placing area team was Rapid City Stevens in seventh. Sturgis finished in 11th.
