South Dakota Farm Bureau hosts 106th annual convention

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – “South Dakota Backroads – An Adventure in Leadership” is the theme for the 106th Annual South Dakota Farm Bureau (SDFB) Convention, Nov. 17-18, 2023 at the Best Western Plus Ramkota Hotel, Sioux Falls, S.D. Registration for the event is now open and available at sdfbf.org.

The two-day event will celebrate South Dakota’s home-grown leaders and feature thought provoking speakers on timely issues, emceed by Mike Jaspers, former South Dakota Secretary of Agriculture.

The convention kicks off on Friday featuring retired South Dakota State University Football Coach John Stiegelmeier. The day’s activities are followed by a fun night with SDFB Young Farmers and Ranchers (YF&R) Committee hosting a cooking competition and live auction for the SDFB Foundation For Agriculture.

Saturday morning, SDFB will be joined by the Greater Sioux Falls Chamber of Commerce to highlight upcoming priorities during a Legislative Breakfast featuring Chris Cakes. A South Dakota Water panel will follow the breakfast with speakers, Troy Larson of Lewis & Clark Water Systems, Kurt Pfeifle of S.D. Association of Rural Water Systems and Ryan Johnson, Utility Administrator for the City of Sioux Falls.

Saturday will also include important policy decisions by SDFB delegates and leadership learning conversations on topics such as Artificial Intelligence, Drone Technology, Food as Medicine and more.
