South Dakota sees 48 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday

PIERRE, S.D. – There were 48 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Tuesday’s update from the State Department of Health.

Of those, Pennington County reported 8 new cases, sending their cumulative total to 649 with 142 active cases. The active caseload is down three from Monday.

Lawrence County also reported a new case Tuesday, giving them a cumulative total of 21 with 2 active cases.

Meade County reported no new cases and a new recovery was reported, giving the county 7 active.

Custer County also reported a new case today, giving them a cumulative total of 11 with 2 active.

The statewide number of active cases is down 8 today to 864. The number of people hospitalized is also down one today to 62.

There are 109 deaths, with none being reported today.
