South Dakota sees nearly 74-percent voter turnout

PIERRE – South Dakota’s General Election was held Tuesday, November 3. According to the unofficial results, statewide voter turnout was 73.88%, with 427,523 ballots cast.

Official results will be available at the conclusion of the election returns canvass to be performed by the State Canvassing Board on Tuesday, November 10.

“Thank you to all the voters that participated in this election. My sincere appreciation also goes out to our local election officials and poll workers for their incredible work in administering the election. Their efforts during these unprecedented times played a crucial role in ensuring a free, fair, and accessible election for all South Dakotans,” stated Secretary of State Steve Barnett.
