South Dakota’s Jordan Tierney selected as new Miss Rodeo America

LAS VEGAS — It was a big night for outgoing Miss Rodeo South Dakota Jordan Tierney as she was crowned Miss Rodeo America 2020 on Sunday.

As Miss Rodeo America, Tierney was awarded a $20,000 Educational Scholarship from the Miss Rodeo America Scholarship Foundation and will serve as an ambassador for the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association.

From Oral, S.D., Tierney is no stranger to the world of PRCA.  Jordan’s father Paul Tierney is a PRCA champion in tie-down roping and was inducted into the hall of fame in 2008.

It has been nine years since a South Dakotan was named Miss Rodeo America, when Mackenzie Haley was crowned for 2011. Tierney is the fifth South Dakotan to win the title — others include Leslie Patten-White in 1985, Donna Keffeler in 1982 and Pat Koren-Sanmartin in 1965.
