STURGIS, SD — The Spearfish Spartans took advantage of 37 Scooper unforced errors and beat Sturgis in three straight sets, 25-19, 25-9, 25-19.
The Scoopers committed 14 errors in set one, 10 in set two and 13 more in set three.
Freshman Adelyn Bouman led Spearfish (4-14) with 8 kills. Tayler Duncan and Kali Reiners had 14 and 9 assists, respectively.
Sturgis freshman Faith King had seven kills and one block. Avery Fogleman had five assists and an ace, and Norah Iverson added four kills, one ace and one assist.
The Scoopers (1-12) are in action next Tuesday as they travel to Hot Springs.
