Spartans Sweep Scoopers in Volleyball Action

SPEARFISH, SD – The Spearfish Spartan volleyball team used a potent offensive attack to blow out the Sturgis Scoopers on Thursday night, 25-13, 25-11 and 25-14 to win the match 3-0.

It was the Kali Reiners – Maria Bouman show for Spearfish, with Reiners tallying 32 assists and Bouman collecting 15 kills. Spearfish improves to 10-12 on the season.

Ellie Storm had three aces, two blocks and a kill for Sturgis, who falls to 4-16 on the year. Norah Iverson added four kills and two blocks, with Tori Williams chipping in nine assists for the Scoopers.

Sturgis travels to Box Elder on Saturday to take on the Douglas Patriots. First serve is scheduled for 12:30pm.
