Spartans Sweep Season Series From Scoops

SPEARFISH, SD — The Spearfish Spartan volleyball squad came out hot on Thursday night, beating the Sturgis Scoopers in three sets.

Spearfish took set one, 25-16, set two, 25-12, and set three, 25-20.

Avery Fogleman led Sturgis with nine assists and one ace. Faith King added four kills.

Kali Reiners had a good all-around match for Spearfish (7-14) with 17 assists and two aces.

The Scoopers fall to 2-18 on the year and are in action next on Saturday, as they host the Douglas Patriots. First serve for the varsity is scheduled for 1:30pm.
