Spearfish man charged in the killing of his wife pleads not guilty

DEADWOOD, S.D. — A Spearfish man charged with murder for the January killing of his wife at their home has pleaded not guilty.

Dreau Lester Rogers, 33, was arrested on January 22.

Police were called to the home on St. Joe Street for reports of a disturbance and upon arrival located a woman who had been shot.

The woman, identified as 43-year-old Destiny Dawn Rogers, was taken to Spearfish Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Dreau Rogers remains in Lawrence County Jail without bond. A motions hearing is set for Friday, February 18.

He could face the death penalty if convicted of first degree murder.
