SPEARFISH, S.D. — The Sasquatch went on another offensive bombardment, defeating the Spuds, 23-12.
Ben Parker was the superhero for the Sasquatch having a perfect five-hit night, scoring five runs, and driving in five RBIs. Parker also completed the cycle, hitting a single, double, triple, and a grand slam. Parker has been selected to play in the all-star game later this month along with six other Sasquatch players.
Seth Surrett would be the first to help put Spearfish out in front as he hit a sacrifice fly to take the lead, 1-0. Hayden Driggs would hit a two-run double shortly after bringing the score 3-0. The squatch would add on seven more runs before something spectacular happened. The Sasquatch hit three home runs in a row, with Parker, Surrett, and Nicky Winterstein hitting homers right after another. This put the sasquatch up 12-0 in the third inning. There was no shortage of offense tonight as six Sasquatch players would dial in 20 RBIs in total.
Sitting in second place the Sasquatch is now 27-13 on the year and have their eyes set on earning a spot in the playoffs. Spearfish has a lot of talent on this team having four hitters sitting in the top 10Â of the division and also having Parker tied for first place in RBIs.
The Sasquatch will be on an away stretch, as they face the Mining City Tommyknockers July 12th-15th.
