SPEARFISH, S.D. — The Sasquatch won the series against Western Nebraska Sunday night, winning the final game, 9-3.
It was an offensive bombardment in the first two innings for the Sasquatch. Ben Parker would get things started, driving in a two-run single. Soon after Nicky Winterstein would hit an RBI single to put the Sasquatch in front 3-0. There was no sign of slowing down in the second inning after a pair of two-run RBIs from Winstersein and Charles McAdoo. Parker hitting his third RBI on the day put the sasquatch in a monster lead 8-0.
The Pioneers would bring in three runs over the course of the game, while Spearfish only tacked on one more.
Winterstein had a monstrous night, having a three-hit, four-RBI night. Parker contributed in a big way as well, finding two hits, and raking in three RBIs. Parker is now tied for RBIs in the Expedition League with 29. McAdoo sits in third with 24.
Jace Wessles was off to a hot start on the mound. Wessles pitched in four innings, had three strikeouts, and only allowed one run to be scored. Logan Wensley picked up the win in his final game. Pitching in the final five innings, Wensley ended up with five strikeouts.
The Sasquatch will finish up their homestand against the Badlands Bigsticks Monday night in the Black Hills Energy Stadium at 6:30 p.m.
