Spearfish Sweeps Sturgis in Volleyball Action

STURGIS, SD — The Spearfish Spartans came to West Gym to face the Scoopers during homecoming week in a volleyball rivalry game and swept Sturgis in three sets, 25-10, 25-10, 25-13.

The Spartans collected 10 aces in the match and were led by sophomore Kali Reiners, who tallied six aces, five kills and 26 assists. Maria Bouman added 10 kills.

Norah Iverson had 10 kills for Sturgis, with Tori Williams chipping in seven assists.

The Scoopers fall to 2-11 on the year and Spearfish improves to 6-11. Sturgis takes part in the Belle Fourche Invite on Saturday, where they will face the Broncs and Beulah, ND.
