STURGIS, S.D. – Behind some dominating front line play, the St. Thomas More Cavalier volleyball team beat the Sturgis Scoopers on Tuesday, Sept. 1 at West Gymnasium.
The Scoopers could not generate momentum during any set, losing their first match of the season to the Cavs, 25-16, 25-16 and 25-18. Sturgis got behind early in sets one and two, but led early in set three before the Cavaliers used stifling defense to shut down the Scooper offense.

Timmer ended the night with nine kills, three blocks and two aces. Matthes showed Sturgis her setting skills, contributing 13 assists, two kills and two aces.
