RAPID CITY, S.D. – The 3rd and 4th Round Consolation matches are complete at the State B Wrestling Tournament in Rapid City.
At 106, Kipp Cordes of Philip will wrestle for third place Saturday afternoon after winning his consolation semifinal with a 8-2 decision win over Gannon Gilligan of Kingsbury County.
At 113 pounds, Jace Blasius of Philip will also wrestle for third place with a semifinal win over Ian Metz of Sisseton.
At 120, Ryker Peterson of Philip lost his consolation semifinal and will wrestle for fifth place. Peterson lost to Kaleb Osborn of Winner Area, who will wrestle for third.
At 132, Thane Simons of Philip lost his consolation semifinal to Parker GEditz of Faulkton Area. He will wrestle for fifth place.
At 145, Blair Blasius of Philip lost his semifinal match to Mason Fey of Redfield Area. Blasius will wrestle for fifth place.
At 160, Parker Noem of Custer missed the semifinal and will wrestle for seventh place.
At 170, Cody Rakow of Lead-Deadwood worked his way into the consolation semifinal, where he dropped his match to Caleb Rickenbach of Hot Springs. Rickenbach will wrestle for third and Rako will wrestle for fifth.
At 182, Jesse Hostutler of Philip dropped his semifinal consolation match to Corbin Schwartz of Redfield Area. Hostutler will wrestle for fifth place.
At 195, Caleb McGregor will wrestle for third place after winning his consolation semifinal with a fall over Charlley Pravaecek of Winner Area.
At 220, Grey Gilbert just misses the third place consolation championship match with a tough loss to Cole Pranger of Mt. Vernon/Plankinton/Corsica-Stickney. Pranger will wrestle Marcus Harkless of Hot Springs for third place after Harkless advanced with an 8-1 decision win over Clayton Smith of Marion/Freeman/Freeman Academy/Canistota/Menno.
Consolation championships are Saturday afternoon with championships Saturday night.
