UNDATED – The 2024 South Dakota State Golf Tournament for girls Class AA, A, and B as well as Boys Class B are underway in Yankton, Sioux Falls and Brookings.
The tournament runs June 3 through the 4th.
In Class B girls, Chester leads after Day 1 with a 40, followed by Miller in second with a 47. Jones County is tied for fourth place.
Leading individually is Chester’s Jadyn McDonald with a 76. Jayce Pugh of Miller is second one stroke back.
In Class B boys, Wessington Springs leads the team standings with a 21, followed by Hamlin and Hanson tied for second with a pair of 30’s. Hill City is tied for sixth place.
Leading individually is Blake Larson of Wessington Springs with a 74. Gavin Colson of Sully Buttes and Derek Brueggemen of Miller are tied for second one stroke back.
At the Girls Class A tournament, Sioux Falls Christian leads the team standings with a 35. Vermillion and West Central are tied for second with a 56. St Thomas More is in fifth place.
There is a three way tie for individual leader between Tori Peterson of Sioux Falls Christian, Hayden Thorton of Rapid City Christian and Kaitlin Strain of St Thomas More. All three ended Day 1 with a 77.
And, in the Class AA standings, Mitchell is in first place with a 43, followed by Aberdeen Central in second with a 44 and Watertown in third with a 45.
Olivia Braun of Aberdeen Central leads the individual standings with a 72, followed by Allison Meyerink of Mitchell in second with a 75.
Lily Heisinger of Sturgis is tied for 9th.
