PIERRE, S.D. – The South Dakota Health Department reported an uptick in the number of new COVID-19 cases as 996 positive cases were reported.
There were 41 new hospitalizations this week for a total of 66 and active cases totaled 630.
One new death out of Spink County was reported, sending the state’s death toll to 3,153.
Across the Black Hills area, Pennington County reported 147 new cases over the past week. Meade County added 25 new cases and there were 16 out of Lawrence County.
Elsewhere, Oglala Lakota County listed 36 new cases, Fall River County added 17, Butte County had 4, Harding County showed 2 and there was one new case out of Custer County.
