State health officials list 295 new COVID-19 cases in Monday report

PIERRE, S.D. – State health officials reported 295 new COVID-19 cases Monday with 65 of those listed as probable.

Active cases dropped to 5,625 and the number of people hospitalized was 179.

There were two new deaths reported, sending the state’s death toll to 2,220. The new deaths were out of Hughes and Beadle County.

Across the Black Hills area, Pennington County reported 59 new cases with 5 of those considered as probable.

Meade had the next highest amount of new cases with 22.

Lawrence County tallied 8 new cases, with one of those considered as probable.

Elsewhere, Custer County listed 5 new cases, Butte and Oglala Lakota County had 4 each, Fall River County reported 2 and Harding County added one new case.
