State health officials report 255 total new COVID-19 cases and five deaths Saturday

PIERRE, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Health on Saturday reported 191 new, confirmed cases of COVID-19,  with an additional 64 listed as probable. The 255 total cases Saturday send the total number since the pandemic began to 103,409.

Five new deaths were reported, bringing the state death toll to 1,933.

Total Hospitalizations were up to 77 from 74 Friday. Active cases in the state decreased slightly from Friday to 2,443.

Health officials confirmed 13 new cases West River: seven in Pennington County, four in Lyman County, and one each in Lawrence and Tripp Counties.

Three new probable cases were reported West River: two in Fall River County and one in Pennington County.

An additional 280 people have recovered from the virus, which puts the total number of recoveries at 112,705.
