State health officials report 415 new cases, four new deaths in Monday COVID-19 report

PIERRE, S.D. – In their Monday report, state health officials reported 415 new cases of COVID-19 with 84 of those listed under the probable category.

Active cases are up from Friday’s 6,820 to 6,865 today. Hospitalizations due to the virus dropped a bit to 230.

Four new deaths were reported, sending the state’s death toll to 2,309. One of the new deaths was out of Pennington County where there have been 264 since the pandemic began.

Across the Black Hills area, Pennington County reported 53 new cases Monday with 3 of those considered as probable.

Lawrence County had 15 new cases and Meade County tallied 14.

Elsewhere, Oglala Lakota had 7 new cases, Fall River County reported 6, Butte had 5 and Custer County added 2.
