State health officials report 529 new COVID-19 cases Monday

PIERRE, S.D. – South Dakota health officials reported 529 new COVID-19 cases Monday.

Active cases across the state inched back up to 13,325 today after falling to 13,138 on Sunday.

Hospitalizations decreased 19 today to 402.

One new death was reported Monday, sending the state’s total since the pandemic began to 438. The new deaths was listed as a woman in the 80-plus age range out of Grant County.

New cases across West River total 92 with Pennington County reporting 34. Pennington County’s cumulative total is 4,948 with 1,250 active cases.

Meade County added 12 new cases Monday, sending the total to 1,052 with 223 active. Lawrence County added 9 new cases, sending the cumulative total to 1,070 with 342 remaining active.

Other new cases across West River Monday included 12 in Oglala Lakota, 5 in Butte, 3 each in Gregory and Todd, 2 each in Harding, Fall River, Dewey, Ziebach and Bennett and one each in Custer, Stanley and Tripp counties.
