State health officials report just 54 new COVID-19 cases Monday; no new deaths

PIERRE, S.D. – State health officials reported just 54 new cases of COVID-19 in their Monday report. OF those, 11 were considered as probable cases.

No new deaths were reported today, keeping the state’s death toll at 1,809.

Active cases decreased slightly to 2,308 from Sunday’s 2,316 and the number of hospitalizations dropped one to 112.

Around the Black Hills area, only 9 new, confirmed cases were reported among two counties.

Pennington County had 7 of them and Meade County reported the other two.

There were 333 new persons tested reported on Monday. Monday’s new person tested positivity rate is 16.2%.
